The Giant Pumpkin Moves into its New Digs!

After uncounted hours of site preparation and seedling care this spring by the pumpkin team we gathered yesterday afternoon to plant the chosen seedling.  The ceremony began quietly in the greenhouse with the selection of the lucky one from five candidate seedlings.  Once at the planting site folksy music played as we put the finishing touches on the main mound.   We then gently placed our seedling in the ground.  “Greatest Pumpkin” looks quite tiny in the 20 x 20 foot tilled area but we are dreaming big.

The above blog was submitted by David Kimdon, who can be seen serenading gardeners with his accordian. He also submitted the funniest 10 day review for the garden plot we have seen.
