Cider Pressing

A well-synchronized crew of pickers, washers, choppers, tossers, pressers, heaters, and pourers collaborated on pressing cider at CoHo in early October.  It had been two years since the last cider pressing (2009 was NOT a good apple year), so folks were eager to enjoy the wonderful flavor of fresh-pressed cider.

Jars of cider are happily tucked in the freezer, ready to be a cozy addition to wintery CoHo events.

A few jars will team up with ariona berry juice made from berries grown at CoHo.  The potent purple juice needs the sweetness of the apple cider to make a mellow, flavorful drink.
