Dave
I was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. My favorite times were spent outdoors - in the hills near my house or backpacking in the local mountains. After high school, I held various jobs before returning to school to get a degree in computer programming. I've lived in Detroit, Seattle and I've lived on my grandmother's ranch in central California. I met my future former wife on a camping trip in 1988 and we now have 3 wonderful children, Theresa ('90), Andrew ('94) and Patrick ('94). My wife and I split up in 1999.
I enjoy outdoor activities (camping, biking, hiking, travel, gardening…), indoor activities (puzzles, games, music, reading…) and most of all I enjoy being with my kids. Life is a journey. It's always becoming clearer to me that the most important things in my life aren't things, they're the people in my life. The things that I've owned have ended up owning me. Learning, growth and self-discovery are a life-long process for me.
I see cohousing as a place where I can help to create a community where my neighbors and I share more than just a street. I'm looking to cohousing to be a "village" for my family. With my neighbors, I hope to create a place where a dream of a modest home and lots of open space can become a reality.
